【Alumni Affairs】School of Civil Engineering and Architecture Holds a Series of Alumni Reunion Activities for the Third Member Representative Congress of the University Alumni Association

On the afternoon of December 14, the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture organized a series of colorful reunion activities for its alumni who returned to attend the Third Member Representative Congress of the University Alumni Association, including a visit to Phase I of the Nanhu Comprehensive Engineering Training Center and an alumni symposium, so as to promote in-depth exchanges between alumni and their alma mater and the school. 

Accompanied by Professor Wang Qiankun, member of the University Council and former Deputy Party Secretary, as well as leaders and teachers of the school, the alumni visited Buildings 1, 2 and 3 of Phase I of the Nanhu Comprehensive Engineering Training Center in turn. The alumni were all impressed by the rapid changes of the university and the great improvement of the school's running conditions, and expressed their wishes for greater achievements in the development of the university and the school. After the visit, Professor Wang Qiankun, member of the University Council and former Deputy Party Secretary, Lin Kai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Fan Xiaochun, President of the Design and Research Institute, Wan Linbo and Peng Kai, Vice Deans of the school, directors of various departments and teacher representatives held the "Unite as One to Meet Challenges, Work Hand in Hand for the Future" alumni symposium of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture with the alumni. 

First of all, Secretary Lin Kai extended a warm welcome and thanks to the returning alumni on behalf of the school. He said that the school has fully implemented the spirit of the Fourth Congress of the Communist Party of China of the university, deeply understood the strategic, long-term and fundamental position of alumni work in the overall development of the school, and has continuously explored and practiced in organizational construction, alumni services and cultural inheritance, achieving good results and valuable experience. He sincerely hoped that alumni would, as always, care about and support the development of various undertakings of their mother school. Subsequently, Vice Dean Peng Kai gave a detailed introduction to the alumni on the development of the school in recent years. In the exchange session, the alumni affectionately recalled their school days, thanked their alma mater and the school for their cultivation, and said that they would continue to care about the alma mater, and continue to give play to their own advantages in scientific and technological innovation, talent training, social cooperation, student employment and other aspects to help the school achieve better development. 

Finally, Professor Wang Qiankun, member of the University Council and former Deputy Party Secretary, made a concluding speech. He extended a warm welcome and thanks to all alumni, and introduced the plans and goals for the development of the school, disciplines and majors in combination with the development of the industry. He said that alumni are the most precious wealth and the strongest backing of the school, and hoped that alumni could further offer suggestions and contribute to the development of the school. He also expected that the "Spirit of Architecture and Engineering" would be passed down among generations of alumni, and wished the alumni a smooth work and a happy life. This activity has further strengthened the close ties between alumni and their alma mater and the school. Looking forward to the future, the school will work hand in hand with alumni, forge ahead, and jointly open a new chapter.
